Dilkara Necklace

This spectacular necklace is made of round links, entirely hand-forged, with a central pendant with Ethiopian Black Opal.
On the back of the main pendant, a flight of butterflies recalls an Aboriginal legend that sees a butterfly as the creator of Opals.

The rainbow-winged butterfly flies to a mountain but gets trapped there by a blizzard. She sleeps covered in a blanket of white until spring, when the blanket melts, washing the colors from her wings and carrying them downstream. Once solidified, the water transforms into one of the most magical stones ever: opal!

Dilkara is one of the Aboriginal words for “rainbow”.

Butterflies are creatures capable of incredible metamorphoses, necessary for their survival. They are a symbol of transformation and immortality thanks to their ability to evolve.
